Kaye received a degree in communications from Ohio University in the 1970's. A few years later she became a member of a local non profit where she began her public speaking career as a volunteer advocate for the organization. Later, she entered law school and excelled at trial practice, where, on the strength of her public speaking, her school won the championship for the first time in its history. That success was followed by many years as a very successful trial lawyer. Kaye worked her way up the ranks of city government and made a bid for public office.

In 2002, Kaye welcomed a lifestyle change. She moved to the west and opened her life to new career opportunities. Public speaking is now the focus of her working life

In addition to coaching clients and running Speechmaker, Kaye is the statewide legislative director of a national non profit and serves as a state advocacy chair and as a local board member of another national organization.

Kaye lives with her husband, David McGann, and their three dogs in the foothills of Colorado. Along with coaching and serving on boards, Kaye indulges her love of words by working in a bookstore. In her spare time she hikes, birds, and is trying to figure out how high desert gardening works.
